For some, turning 40 is a difficult milestone. For us, it was a great excuse to throw a party—an excuse compounded by the fact that our founder, Carl Pauptit, was retiring and handing the business over to son Rich and Rich’s business partner David Gallant. We also took this opportunity to launch a promotional book called The Art of Detail, featuring an overview of the company’s history; heartfelt testimonials from clients; and loads of loving photographs of our shop, equipment and hardworking employees.
Clients, suppliers and well-wishers showed up to our Etobicoke site to indulge in live music and good eats, from birthday cake to barbecued corn. They also came for their chance to take home Rich’s 1969 Karmann Ghia in a raffle that had the crowd buzzing with anticipation; Annalies Vogel was named the lucky winner. The celebration was a resounding success, and a perfect way to kick off the next 40 years.
